Today we’re gonna take a look at removal spells. Usually, when I draft, I go for bombs and removal. So let’s go through each color and see the different kinds of removal Shards of Alara draft has to offer us. Starting with white, these two cards target nonland permanents (not always the case), and they remove them from the game never to return (most of the time, LOL). Each card has it’s pros and cons… Think you know what two cards I’m talking about?
Celestial Purge
Remove target black or red permanent from the game.

Oblivion Ring
When Oblivion Ring comes into play, remove another target nonland permanent from the game.
When Oblivion Ring leaves play, return the removed card to play under its owner’s control.
As for me, I haven’t decided which is more important. You could argue versatility, but the fact that Celestial Purge is an instant has for some nasty card advantage potential. Interested in hearing what you guys think.

I go for the Celestial Purge. As for an active player like me, i know the meta. But still, there is always something to argue about.

Ima giving it to the O.Ring ( orgasam ring ) meta or no meta…just plain efficient…pros would first pick this, over bombs and the colors around it..
hmmm… i really want to say Celestial Purge coz i wouldnt pit it up against o.ring if I didnt think it had a chance… but now that i think about it, I have to go with Oblivion Ring. It has more targets than the purge, especially annoying artifacts/equipments (yeah, Behemoth Sledge or Scepter of Dominance…. lol).
Just curious, if Purge were this card:
would you still have picked the Oblivion Ring?
